Blog says online marketing should focus on SEO and paid search Online marketing figures may like to take note that search engine optimisation (SEO), paid search and online media buying should be central to their internet advertising projects.

This is the opinion of the latest installment of the StraightUp Search blog, which states that using these strategies together will strengthen online marketing campaigns.

The post advised: "Now, more than ever, budgeting your marketing dollars is a critical aspect of the planning process."

It also reminded those in online marketing to "plan, plan and then some more", stating that "preparation will be the key to success in 2009".

According to the British Chamber of Commerce, those in internet advertising and online marketing should not abandon their business plans and strategies despite the current economic downturn.

John Dunsmore, the organisation's managing director advised that those online marketing figures who do not look after their customers "really will struggle".
