Content to get bigger online marketing budget share
Online marketing decision makers plan to spend more of their budgets on content marketing next year, with social media leading the way, according to a new survey.Research by Junta42 found that the majority of online marketing decision makers plan to increase spend on content marketing.
Of those planning to spend more on this part of online marketing, nearly a third said they plan to increase their investment in content marketing significantly during 2009.
Social media is the most important strategy, along with email marketing, Blogging, case studies, online video marketing, white papers and microsites.
Report author Joe Pulizzi commented that in online marketing, the future is about "developing a conversation with customers".
"Without valuable, relevant and compelling content, that's pretty much impossible," he added.
This survey echoes the findings of New Media Age, which found that online marketing budgets are set to increase by around ten per cent in 2009.
