GoFish creates internet advertising network aimed at kids
Video sharing site GoFish has created an online advertising network for websites aimed at kids.Marketers "can buy advertising on the sites or distribute original programming on them that can support ads," Variety magazine reports.
The sites, which include Miniclip.com, Cartoon Doll Emporium, GameGecko.com, Piczo, Rocketon, Whyville, Arcade Town and Flowgo, offer different kinds of entertainment for teens and tweens, such as games, virtual worlds and video programming.
Companies that have purchased Internet Advertising across the network include Disney, Cartoon Network, Electronic Arts, Build a Bear, Kellogg's, Lego and Nintendo.
The executive chairman of GoFish, Jim Moloshok, said: "GoFish has built a quality, scalable solution for marketers interested in reaching youth online and a compelling alternative to portals or other more established players who are losing market share to independent sites such as those in our network."
Recent research by Efficient Frontier indicated that US companies are spending an increasing amount of money on internet advertising.
