Google predicts big money from mobile ads
Google chief executive Eric Schmidt has claimed that the search engine will see higher revenues from Mobile Advertising than from the desktop in the future.
In an interview on US television show Mad Money with Jim Cramer, Mr Schmidt said that because mobile is more "targeted" than the desktop, the search giant could see significant income from the platform in due course, VentureBeat reports.
"You carry your phone everywhere - it knows all about you. We can do a very, very targeted ad. Over time, we will make more money for mobile advertising," he commented.
The same interview also saw Mr Schmidt reject the idea of putting ads on the Google homepage, as while such an enterprise would bring in "some number of millions of dollars", users do not want to see ads on the page.
Hitwise recently revealed statistics showing that Google accounted for over 70 per cent of the US search market in July for the first ever time.
