Google reveals burgeoning search terms of this year
Search engine Google has made an announcement detailing the most up-and-coming search terms in the US over the course of 2008.
The list reflects a comparison between this year and 2007 and reveals what has been "top-of-mind" for American internet users of late, says the official statement.
Online marketing professionals may not be surprised to learn that claiming the top spot is the word Obama.
Social networking site Facebook takes second place, something which internet advertisers may want to take heed of.
Also featuring on the list are iPhone, online video website YouTube and Beijing 2008, reflecting the volume of interest in this year's Olympic Games.
Another political reference, Palin, placed seventh.
Meanwhile, Google was the focus of some positive news last week.
It was revealed that the organisation's share prices increased on the US stock exchange Nasdaq.
