Google stops serving ads to eco search engine

Google stops serving ads to eco search engine Google has stopped serving Internet Advertising to a search engine that operates on eco-friendly principles.

Ecocho is based in Sydney, and had an agreement with Google and Yahoo! whereby it received a cut of the advertising revenue from searches.

It said it would plant up to two new trees for every 1,000 searches made on the site, with Google and Yahoo! ads appearing next to search results.

However, it appears that Google has pulled out of the deal because Ecocho is breaking certain Google rules.

Planting trees apparently breaks rules relating to compensating users for viewing ads or performing searches.

"Unfortunately, Google has decided to stop Ecocho from using its search technology," the search engine's Blog states.

Meanwhile, Google has been named as the most influential brand in the world in the BrandZ Top 100 by research firm Millward Brown Optimor.
