Google to show ad-supported videos on other websites

Google to show ad-supported videos on other websites Google is to begin showing its YouTube videos on other websites in order to derive more revenues from Internet Advertising.

The news is the latest move from Google as the search engine looks to monetise the popular video sharing site that it bought for $1.76 billion a year ago, the Associated Press reports.

The videos will be accompanied by an ad either in the form of a graphic layered on top or as a link at the bottom. Internet marketers who use Google's AdSense program will be able to take advantage of the system.

Websites who take part in the scheme will be able to specify the kind of videos that they want on their pages. The revenue derived in this way will be shared between the content provider and the website showing the clips.

Metrix firm comScore recently found that Google was the most visited online property for the month of August.
