Google to work on social networking advertising

Google to work on social networking advertising There is more work to do in the field of advertising on social networks, Google's co-founder said this week.

Speaking at a conference in Jerusalem on Thursday to mark the 60th anniversary of Israel, Sergey Brin commented that Internet Advertising on user-generated portals has "been improving" but acknowledged that the potential of the medium was far from being fully realised.

According to Reuters, Mr Brin explained that such developments always take time and that advertisers should not expect an immediate solution.

"Things have been going well this year... it's hard to predict where social networking will come out," he observed.

Key challenges identified by the co-founder were educating advertisers and users, working on the most effective formula for social networking advertising development, and enhancing the technology involved with the process.

Google is the top provider of Search Engine Marketing in the UK, a recent report from Efficient Frontier Europe has found.
