Guinness Viral Campaign - Arpa Taller de Autos
Guinness have launched a viral campaign onto the blogosphere by leaking clues to beer related blogs.Play the Guinness Online Game: Gaming console launched here.
The campaign named Tipping consists of a main site where users are called upon to solve several riddles in a certain order. Players can solve problems by finding games hidden on different sites on the net by searching for clues found in the room and in video clips of a Domino Festival which the whole campaign is based around. The game is living up to Guinness' promise that it will be difficult...
As an example, a search for Arpa Taller de Autos gets you to a site where you have to solve a hidden puzzle which requires some cleaning up before it becomes clear (fortunately a cloth is provided).
We have been playing for hours and have only been able to solve 4 of the riddles. We are currently stuck at Domino 5.
UPDATE 2 November 2007:
We have now reached Domino 8 after many hours of play!
Guinness seems to have made a few changes to the site(s) to make it very slightly easier by enhancing gameplay - the looking glass now has a + and -, you can get back to the videos by clicking on the projector... They are definitely listening to feedback!
We are stuck at Domino 8 now and it also seems that the game might be timed to coincide with some event. This seemed to be reinforced after we sent an email to the address provided in the last site and received this reply:
"Hola!
Thanks for your email to Pedro Guzmam. He has been expecting you and will be very glad that you have found him!
Pedro has gone for a very important meeting with Juan Ramon (the mayor).
He will be back in the next few days with some important information for you!
Cosas buenas llegan a los que esperan!
Carnicería Guzmam"
"Cosas buenas llegan a los que esperan!" means Good things come to those who wait!
We also found some clues on a newspaper leading us to a site with a misic jukebox which must be meant for a later domino as we received this reply on an email:
"We specialise in retro music.
We remember the order in which things happen.
Those who forget the past, often make the same mistakes twice!"
It is all delightfully mysterious...
Ask your questions below. We are Team DT and we will try to answer without giving too much away.
