Internet advertising spending to increase as TV and radio decline
A new survey indicates that optimism for advertising in general is down for 2008, but that Online Advertising is likely to enjoy continued success. The latest study from Advertiser Perceptions shows a decidedly downbeat mood among marketing executives, with only 22 per cent of respondents believing that TV advertising spend will increase over the coming six months, and only 16 per cent predicting an increase in radio ad spending.
However, when it comes to Internet Advertising those same executives are far more positive. In fact, more than three quarters (76 per cent) believe that online advertising budgets will grow in the coming six months.
This is logical thinking, because using online advertising is an affordable and effective way of reaching an audience of millions.
More than half the respondents to the survey (55 per cent) believe that Mobile Advertising spend will increase.
Meanwhile, ubiquitous internet company Google continues to dominate the Search Marketing industry, capturing two-thirds of all searches in the US in December.
