Just Search take over: Getupdated stop searching for search marketing company
Just Search, one of the country's leading search Marketing companies, has been taken over by Swedish firm Getupdated, for £9 millionThe move is the latest in a series of takeovers in the Internet Marketing sector, the largest of which were Google's acquisition of DoubleClick and Microsoft's takeover of aQuantive.
The deal will consolidate Getupdated's presence in the crucial English language market. Just Search has business activities in England, the US, Australia and France. It has shown a growth rate of more than 100 per cent during the past years, and margins of over 40 per cent.
Mattias Kaneteg, chief executive of Getupdated, said: "This acquisition of Just Search makes us one of the biggest players in search marketing globally.
"It also turns us into one the few suppliers who can offer larger international companies international traffic via search engines, something which is in great demand by our clients."
He continued: "The internet is fast becoming the single most important channel for companies and organisations to reach out to their clients and members."
