Marketers set to boost 2008 online investment
Marketing professionals are planning to increase their overall budgets over the course of this year, driven by an increased investment in Online Marketing.
Research carried out by BtoB magazine found that 60.1 per cent of the 213 marketers polled planned to up overall budgets in 2008.
The online marketing will continue to attract high levels of investment from the sector, as 79.1 per cent of those surveyed said they would be increasing budgets in this area.
That it a significant increase on the proportion of marketers who said they would raise budgets in 2007, 75.6 per cent, and the largest increase reported.
According to the study, 62.4 per cent of respondents said they would prioritise acquiring new customers in 2008, while 19.3 per cent said this year was focused on brand awareness.
Just 10.3 per cent of the professionals polled said they expected to reduce overall or Online Marketing Budgets, while 29.6 per cent were keeping them the same.
