MarketingProfs launches book club
Advertising firm MarketingProfs has launched a free online book club for the discussion of new marketing books.Acting as a virtual version of a community book club, the discussion group will give members of the marketing community a chance to share ideas and chat with the authors of the books themselves.
Each session will begin with an author Q&A sessions on the MarketingProfs website, and discussions will take place at the MarketingProfs Know-How Exchange forum. A new book will be announced every two months and the first 30 people to sign up for each section will receive a free, signed copy.
"Offering a free-flow of ideas – and some free books – our Book Club keeps you ahead of the marketing curve and provides an arena to virtually meet some of the best minds in marketing … all from the comfort of your own home, or office," the company said.
The first book to be discussed will be Citizen Marketers, by Ben McConnell and Jackie Huba, "a tremendous source of knowledge" for those involved in social media.
The book examines "the cultural shift under way when everyday people can be broadcasters and publishers and build a worldwide audience".
