Microsoft launches ad affiliate program
Microsoft has launched a new affiliate program for its adCenter paid search ads and its security service Windows Live OneCare.According to Marketing Pilgrim, affiliates can earn money each time someone signs up for a free trial of Windows Live OneCare, and when people you refer sign up for paid search ads.
As well as this, Microsoft give a $50 ad credit for your visitors and will also provide the banners to put on your blog or website.
Separately, Microsoft and Viacom have signed an online advertising deal worth $500 million, which will see the software company serving internet ads on Viacom properties such as MTV and Comedy Central.
This means that Microsoft will take work away from DoubleClick, the firm that is being bought by Google.
Matt Rosoff of Directions told the Seattle Times: "That's an important reference win for Microsoft."
