Mobile advertising to breach $3bn as Yahoo mobile leads the way
Mobile advertising to breach $3bn mark Mobile search advertising will reward those brave enough to try it, according to ABI Research. The company's report, 'Mobile Marketing and Advertising', shows that the area holds masses of potential for those willing to use it, with advertisers likely to spend around $3 billion on mobile advertising in the US by the end of this year.
"Mobile advertising and marketing is a risky - albeit enticing and potentially lucrative - business," Judith Rosall of ABI Research told ClickZ.
She added that mobiles were the perfect devices on which to deliver personalised content, thereby allowing marketers to target their audience more efficiently.
This is because mobile carriers have a fair amount of information about their users, such as name, sex, age, and geographical location.
"The highly personalized nature of mobile phones and their increasing multi-media capabilities make these ideal devices for reaching out to consumers to extend brand marketing and to advertise products and services," she said.
Ms Rosall added that mobile marketing is well developed in Europe.
