Mochila launches new pay per click service

A new pay per click product from syndication service Mochila will allow online marketers to position their advertisements next to relevant articles.

Mochila, an online bazaar that contains print and photo content, launched the service at the ad:tech interactive and online advertising conference in New York.

It is "a new and unique model that allows web publishers to acquire the world's best content for free while earning revenue from highly relevant advertising", the company said.

Mochila's publishing partners include New York Magazine and the Associated Press. The new ad model lets marketers select specific articles or subject categories where they can place their ads. Websites can opt to receive pay per click ads and share the revenue with the publisher and Mochila.

In order to facilitate the service, Mochila has struck deals with advertising firms 24/7 Real Media, Quigo's AdSonar and TACODA.

"Mochila's ad model is a unique win-win-win for advertisers, publishers and content owners," said the firm's chief executive, Keith McAllister. He added that the problems of click fraud were reduced, too, because membership in the programme is limited.
