More firms using social media for internet marketing
More businesses are waking up to the advantages posed by social media when it comes to Internet Marketing, according to The Times.
Companies are moving away from traditional ads on social networking websites towards interactive content such as applications and profile pages, the newspaper indicated.
This can be seen in recent apps such as Disney's Wall-E game for Facebook and a program commissioned by Warner Bros to allow users to edit images to tie in with the latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight.
"If you look at click-through rates on traditional ads in social media environments, they're extremely low," commented Sonya Chawla of Slide, a publisher of social entertainment apps.
