Jerry Yang, chief executive officer of Yahoo!, has revealed that he is to leave his post, while marketers are warned of the legal implications of going undercover online.

Yahoo's CEO Jerry Yang this week revealed that he is to leave his post and resume his position on the company's board of members.

Head of the recruitment firm Heidrick & Struggles, Roy Bostock, which is overseeing the transition, stated that the board and Mr Yang feel that now is the right time to introduce a new candidate who can "take the company to the next level".

Meanwhile, law firm Brown, Jackson claimed towards the end of this week that one-third of marketers are not aware of the implications of regulations that came into force in May this year.

It claimed that many marketers do not know that posing as consumers online to advertise their services can now earn them a fine of up to £5,000 and even a jail sentence.

Lastly, online marketers were offered guidance by an article on dmnnews.com, which iterated the importance of keeping email Marketing strategies updated and relevant to subscribers.
