Yesterday, IMRG predicted that, while some people will be tucking into turkey on Christmas Day, others will be online buying more goods.

The organisation estimates that a total of £100 million will be spent online tomorrow – a growth of 15 per cent from last year.

As 2009 approaches, Opera revealed the results of a report which gives an insight into mobile web use across a variety of countries.

In terms of handsets, it found that the BlackBerry Bold has been particularly well-received in Europe, Russia, North America and the UK.

Lastly, social bookmarking site Delicious this week revealed its top ten most searched-for items of 2008.

News came top, with sites such as the BBC and CNN remaining popular, while restaurants and designer hotels featuring at fifth and seventh place respectively.
