Google has shed more light on its search quality processes, explaining some of the thinking behind changes to its search interface and how it deals with factors such as misspellings.A Times report has suggested that more companies are making use of Facebook apps for marketing purposes, while a Wall Street Journal report indicated that Time Warner is preparing to sell its AOL Internet Advertising and dial-up units.
Google's themed logo helped 'beatrix potter' to become the fastest moving search term last week, according to Hitwise, and comScore advised clothing retailers to invest more in online advertising to boost their operations.
More recently, Google's DoubleClick unit now offers video ads for the Silverlight 2 player, the search engine announced this week.
New comScore figures have also highlighted Google's continuing dominance of the UK search market, where it accounted for more than three-quarters of all searches during June.
