A report released earlier this week by the Pew Internet & American Life Project revealed that almost half of US web users turn to a search engine every day.The study indicated that usage levels of search services are approaching those of email, currently the most popular daily activity on the web.
Elsewhere, reports from The New York Times and CNET News.com suggested that Google is experimenting with further new ways of monetising its YouTube property through text, display and animated ads, to varying degrees of success.
Microsoft recently announced that its Webmaster Center for Live Search is now fully up and running after spending some time in beta testing.
Meanwhile, Google has made several changes to its content network for advertisers, making use of DoubleClick technology to do so.
Also a new E-consultancy report has predicted that the market for online brand monitoring technology and related services will show significant growth this year.
