Reports have indicated that search engine Yahoo! may be reconsidering a merger with Time Warner, it emerged this week.

According to The Times, the companies met this weekend to discuss a potential merger between the search engine and Time Warner's AOL, which could be worth up to $10 billion (£5 billion) if it goes through.

Meanwhile, this week Google has now added a link from its home page to its privacy policy, following pressure from outside groups.

In addition, links to privacy policies for other sites run by the search engine - including Google Maps and Gmail - have been added.

This week also saw Microsoft sign an online advertisement deal with a health and fitness magazine publisher.

Rodale - which heads up brands such as MensHealth.com, RunnersWorld.com and Bicycling.com - has teamed up with the software giant to help deliver more relevant promotional marketing endeavours to visitors of these websites.
