Google added a new feature to its AdWords program last week, enabling marketers to combine their keyword and contextual ad operations in one campaign.According to the search engine, the move means that web users will be able to see more relevant ads, while marketers can benefit from advantages such as the ability to set custom bids for specific ad placements.
Meanwhile, comScore revealed that Google managed to hold on to its lead in the US search market in June, despite falling back slightly in terms of total share of search volumes.
Yahoo! and Microsoft, however, saw their market share inch forward compared with the previous month.
More recently, Yahoo! announced a settlement agreement with investor Carl Icahn that will see him take a seat on the company board, while another comScore report highlighted Google as the top-performing website in the US in terms of unique visitors during June.
