Predictions of shifts within the online marketing sector have been hitting the headlines in the last few days.A survey carried out by the Online Marketing and Media Show in London revealed that a growing number of advertisers are considering social media as part of their marketing campaigns.
This is in addition to more traditional methods such as search engine optimisation and pay per click, the poll suggested.
Meanwhile, Google president and chief executive Eric Schmidt said in an interview with Faz.net that current advertising models do not work well when it comes to social networking.
He explained that more needs to be done to make social advertising an "immersive" experience.
In other news, comments made at the D: All Things Digital conference have been in the spotlight, with Yahoo! chief executive Jerry Yang claiming that the firm is still willing to do a deal with Microsoft, but only if the terms are right.
