Webitpr creates web 2.0 press release
A PR firm has created a new kind of news release that has many features designed specifically for the internet.
The "social media press release", from webitpr, features hyperlinked text, audio and video content relating to the company, and the option to social bookmark with Digg, del.icio.us and Reddit.
It also offers readers the chance to leave their comments on the release, making it a true web 2.0 product.
Likely to be seen more in the future, the release offers a great deal more to the reader than the average internet press release and could become an integral part of companies' online marketing strategies.
The subject of the release, appropriately enough, is the hiring of social media specialist Stephen Davies of prblogger.com by webitpr, "to help clients navigate through the web 2.0 space".
Information on the subject is handily broken down into "Core Facts", "Quotes" and "Boilerplate Statements" (information about webitpr itself).
Also included are links to related news stories, and the option to add an RSS feed for webitpr.
The company was established in 2000.
