Yahoo launches new mobile search software
Internet giant Yahoo has unveiled new software to allow mobile phone users to access online services more quickly.Announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the software is called Go for Mobile 2.0 and will mean that people can get information about news, weather and sports more rapidly.
Although the mobile internet market is quite small, Yahoo's announcement is good news for internet marketers because it has great potential. Many analysts believe that mobile internet services will eventually outgrow those based on computers.
Yahoo's ad-funded service will make mobile search far easier, allowing users to receive instant results – unlike current methods that list results.
The company also announced the latest version of its Yahoo Go 2.0 mobile phones, which will come pre-loaded with the software. Around 70 different handset models from the likes of Motorola, Nokia and Samsung can be used as well.
Users can download the software directly on to their handsets.
