Yahoo sets out online advertising plans
Yahoo! is set to transform its advertising strategy, according to a keynote speech from its president, Sue Decker, who was speaking at the 2008 Advertising 2.0 New York conference.
Ms Decker explained that new technologies and platforms will be used to reach the right customers in the future, which could include new deals and partnerships.
She commented on the three-point plan set to be implemented by the internet giant: "Yahoo! is helping to accelerate the transformation of how display advertising is both bought and sold."
Aside from moves within the company to develop techniques and services, Ms Decker also announced it was set to sell display advertising for Walmart.com.
It was also revealed that newspapers would be able to send personalised circulars to customers through the Yahoo! network, which could also impact on its advertising revenue.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that consumers will be able to watch CBS shows online, including the CSI series, through a Yahoo! ad-funded service, reported the International Herald Tribune.
Yahoo! executive, Jerry Yang has been criticised for the collapse of a takeover deal between the search engine and Microsoft earlier this year, though some analysts claim he may be holding out for a better deal.
