Yahoo steals a march on Microsoft and Google with mobile services
Yahoo has launched its Yahoo Mobile Publisher Services, which allow publishers to increase the monetisation of content on mobiles through the use of the Yahoo Mobile Ad Network and other systems.Mobile is becoming an increasingly important part of internet advertising and the publisher services will provide a host of tools to advertisers, publishers and network operators and allow the growth of the mobile internet to benefit consumers and marketers alike.
The Yahoo Mobile Ad Network lets publishers have syndicated advertising served on their mobile content and allows publishers to select the specific ad formats they want to display.
The company is planning to add more partners to this service over the coming months, demonstrating the growth afoot in this lucrative area.
"Yahoo has become a leader in the global mobile internet by leveraging the reach and popularity of our innovative mobile services for consumers and our competitive expertise in digital advertising," said the company's Steve Boom.
"Now, we are enabling publishers to grow their own mobile businesses by taking advantage of our unique experience, technology and services."
The publisher services have gone live across 19 countries including the UK, the US and Ireland.
