Yahoo to reveal Q1 results tonight
Search engine Yahoo! is to reveal its first quarter results tonight which could seal the company's fate.
Microsoft has bid $42billion (£21 billion) for the search firm but Yahoo! says that this offer undervalues it.
The debate is expected to come to an end this evening when Yahoo! will unveil whether the first few months of 2008 have been a success or not.
If the results are higher than expected, Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer could be forced to raise his firm's offer to acquire the search engine.
The past few months have seen numerous attempts by Yahoo! to battle against a buy-out by Microsoft including joining forces with rival firms.
Yahoo! agreed to a two week venture with Google where the pair would share advertising space and is also said to have considered a partnership Rupert Murdoch-owned NewsCorp.
Microsoft has demanded that Yahoo! give it a formal response to its offer by 20 April.
