We provide in-depth SEO Consultancy services to make sure that our client's websites achieve top ranking for their keywords. We provide consulting on an ad-hoc basis and look at a multitude of areas where sites can be optimised to achieve better results.
Here are a few examples of what search engine optimisation services our Internet Advertising clients can expect from us:
Duplicate content is one of the most common causes of penalties in Google. Duplicate content can be on site or off site and can have many different causes. We look at the website in question and search the net for evidence of duplicate content. We also look for possible issues on the website which could cause malicious duplicate content creation by competitors.
The most frequent duplicate content causes are:
Inbound links are considered to be the most important part of the ranking algorithm and a good link building strategy is crucial to sustainable success on the search engines. We will evaluate current back links and will be able to implement a link building strategy using our knowledge of links to ensure the gradual growth of trusted, contextual and in-content links to our client's website. We can display many examples of our success in delivering top positions on the search engines due to our unique system and focus on relevance for placing links. Viral Marketing Campaigns can also have a very beneficial effect when it comes to Link Baiting opportunities.
Here we look at the "Freshness" of the content. Sites that have growing and fresh characteristics do better in the search engines. We have noticed that any page that has been static for 30 days drops in the rankings. Pages that are changed often (between 7 and 25 days cycle) tend to perform better. A site that grows with unique content also performs better. Edited user generated content that is relevant can also be advantageous.
We can advise (and implement) on the use of various systems to facilitate user interaction and content growth for client websites.
Here we look at interlinking from different domains, subdomains and pages as this could be a source of problems. Search Engines do not like doorway redirection as they can't be sure that the page they send the user to is the page the user sees. We also look at URL structure for the use of parameters and duplication issues.
By Search engine SPAM we mean content that tries to convince Search Engines that there is something on the Site/Page that isn't there. Use of the Google Cache for Text page can be very helpful to see what Google sees when looking at a site. For example: see how Google indexes this SEO Consulting page.
By User SPAM we mean content that users aren't interested in. If users aren't interested in something that has been built for Search Engines it will cause bad user behavior and may cause problems on the search engines.
Here we look at how easy it is for Search Engines to navigate the site and to find relevant content pages. We also look at the type of content on the pages and how easily Search Engines will read the content. Search Engines also prefer "clean" pages without too much formatting/style and scripting content. Page Load times are also considered.
We check how user friendly the website is and how easily users can find the information or products that they wanted.
W3C can be used to check for validation errors on the site. This is not a direct source of ranking for Search Engines, but could result in the site not displaying correctly on different browsers.
We have noticed that search engines look for readily available physical address details to measure the "trust" of the site. Users also tend to trust sites with physical contact details more. Terms and Conditions and Privacy Statements are another boost for trust. Inbound Links from Authority and Trusted sites are also very important to build trust.
We look at where the site is hosted, whether it is on an IP shared with multiple sites and if there are any interlinking problems from sites owned by the same company.
If there are too many (more than about 20) sites on an IP the domain could receive penalties from the other sites on the same IP Address if they are picked up for SPAM.
We also consider the Domain Name Servers to determine whether there are issues with the setup of the DNS which could be causing problems for the site.
Search Engines like to see static paragraphs and headings tags on a page to help them identify the topic of that page. It is always a good idea to have unique Title and Header Tags (i.e. <Title>London Property</Title> and <H1>London Property</H1> and at least one unique paragraph on a page that confirms the topic of the page to the Search Engines.
We consider the static content on a site to determine if it could be optimized to improve ranking for important key phrases.
Use of the robots.txt file is recommended if duplicate content is a problem or if there are certain directories that must not be indexed. It is essential to use the robots.txt correctly as it could cause the whole site to be dropped out of all the search engines.
The use of a Sitemap.xml file is essential if there are pages which aren't discoverable via on-site links. It is recommended in all cases to help the search engines index the correct pages when they are updated.
Here a much overlooked penalty that is very prevalent is the penalty of content that is hosted on other sites. This indicates to Google that the site doing the hosting is the "master" site and that the sites using the content are most probably affiliate sites and that they don't own the content that they display on their sites. It also brings up the duplicate content issue again. If the content can be found on more than one site, it will penalize the site that doesn't host the content.
There are many causes of penalties and many more ways to boost a website's rankings in the search engines that are very specific to the individual website and we will leverage years of SEO experience to advise on ways to help clients rank better on the Search Engines.
